It seems that many of the stories of adolescent age are usually faint because of the general romance. Love, Simon appeared, cut the heart of the audience without regard to the awards. With the recent acclaim of independent films such as Moonlight and Call Me By Your Name (both on the Oscars), it's amazing to know that the psychological drama This extraordinary novel by Greg Berlanti is the first of a mainstream teen studio filmed (TV has been on the front for many years on this front). The film is adapted from the novel for the newborn Simon. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli but approached more lightly. However, PG-13 ratings may limit the number of generations who are eagerly waiting for a good teen movie.
The director of Love, Simon - Greg Berlanti is the creator of creative changes on American television for Dawson's Creek, Riverdale ..., The "Is It Us" show by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker. Greg Berlanti is also a cool guy who chooses actors. He picked up the funny boy, who was close to Nick Robinson (Jurassic World actor) as Simon Spier, a sexually suggestive college boy from Atlanta, as well as everything else. His parents (Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel) appear to be freelancers. But Simon did not dare open up to them about sexual orientation.
"I'm just like you, except that I'm hiding a terrible secret," our teenage protagonist reveals when watching a strong gardener busy with a leaf blower. At school, he makes friends with Leah (Katherine Langford), Nick (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) and Abby (Alexandra Shipp), but his trusted friends - including Ethan's best friend (Clark Moore ) is not enough to motivate the teenager to speak it up proudly. Greg Berlanti created a burst of laughter between the characters and the vice principal of the school (Tony Hale) and teacher Natasha Rothwell. But Simon's fear never really dissipated.
That's why he started an anonymous online conversation with a classmate who called himself "Blue" and did not seem to want to tell people who he was and he felt how. Their relationship via email was at the heart of the film when Simon tried to find the Blue's name from the list of suspects, including Bram (Keiynan Lonsdale), Cal (Miles Heizer) friendly service Lyle (Joey Pollari). In a key scene, Simon imagined his future in college and dancing to Whitney Houston. Things get more complicated when fellow schoolmates Martin (Logan Miller) discovers Simon's secret and threatens to extort money if he does not date Abby.
The plot of the plot is somewhat disappointing with this sitcom. However, the joy of Greg Berlanti and the actors in developing the character's awareness is the salvation of the film and makes it a meaningful spiritual gift. Love, Simon is a John Hughes-style movie for young viewers who "wake up". And above all, for all the effort not to offend LGBT, the film is a real breakthrough.
